In addition to the individual race trophies competitors in our Monsterman Series can compete for both individual and club glory in our two Monsterman Series Championships.

Competitors earn points in each race as follows:

• Base Score is determined by your finishing position; winner scores 100 points, second 99 etc.
• Podium finishers (male & female), score additional points: 10, 7 and 5 points.
• Multi- event bonus: Everyone who completes two events or more will score bonus points: 2 events 5 bonus points; 3 events 10 bonus points; all 4 events 15 bonus points.
• Performance Bonus: anyone who improves their position in consecutive races receives 1/2 bonus point per place gained (NO maximum limit).
• Marshall bonus: any competitor who marshals at an event is regarded as having competed in that event for the purpose of awarding the multi-event bonus points.

An individuals top THREE results count towards the championship. If at the end of the series, two competitors are tied on points, their final positions will be decided by reference to their finishing positions in their three counting races. Should competitors still be tied, their relative positions in the 4th (non-scoring) event will be taken into consideration.

There are trophies for the top three male and females in the series.

This championship was first incorporated within the Monsterman Race Series last year and was won by Cambridge University Triathlon Club. Mike Galpin sadly passed away shortly after presenting the trophy for the first time at Monsterman IV. Mike embodied everything that is positive about Club and amateur sport and tirelessly volunteered to help out at endless events. Without individuals like Mike events would simply not take place.

For the Club trophy the points are calculated as follows:

• A Clubs top 3 race performances will count
• A Clubs score for each event will derive from the Monsterman points scores of the top 3 club racers in that event.
• 3 members of a Club must START an event in order for that Club to be eligible to claim Club points for that event.
